Bio
Tara Kirkland is a board-certified adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP-BC) and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. Tara has a particular interest in postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and her specialties include:
- General cardiology
- Interventional cardiology
She has been caring for patients in the Southeast for more than 20 years. Tara’s goal is to provide excellent care from the first visit to the last. She wants patients to feel they are treated with care, compassion and respect.
Tara’s Training
Tara earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and received her Master of Science in nursing (MSN) from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
About Tara
Tara is certified as an AGACNP by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Florida Nurse Practitioner Network.
Tara also serves as a nursing instructor and considers teaching the next generation of nurses to be one of her greatest joys.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading, camping and international travel.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
