Vahid Tohidi, MD, PhD, is a board-certified neurologist and neuromuscular specialist with Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute Neurology Group. In addition to his role as division director of neuromuscular and peripheral disorders, he focuses his practice on diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with neurological disease related to peripheral nervous system disorders.

Neuromuscular Specialist

As a neuromuscular specialist, Dr. Tohidi treats patients with peripheral nervous system disorders and autonomic disorders, including spinal cord disorders, peripheral nerves, and neuromuscular and muscular disorders. He offers different types of procedures and diagnostic tests in order to produce the best possible results in all cases. These procedures and diagnostic tests include:

  • NCS/EMG studies
  • Single fiber EMG
  • Ultrasound for peripheral nerves
  • Autonomic testing

Dr. Tohidi’s Training

Dr. Tohidi earned his medical degree at the Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran and later earned a PhD in biology from Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. He then went on to complete an internship of internal medicine at St. Francis, and a neurology residency at the Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences in Edison, New Jersey. Dr. Tohidi concluded his postdoctoral training at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City with a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine.

About Dr. Tohidi

Dr. Tohidi is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with additional certification in neuromuscular medicine, and also certified by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties in autonomic disorders.

He is a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Academy of Neurology, and American Autonomic Society. Throughout his education and career, he has participated in clinical research studies as principal investigator or co-investigator, and his work has appeared in numerous medical publications.
