Bio
Dr. Victor Roberts is a board-certified endocrinologist and medical director for endocrine oncology with the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. He has cared for patients in Central Florida since 1988, and his areas of expertise include:
- Endocrine oncology
- Thyroid disorders and cancer
- Diabetes, including the use of technological advancements such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring
- Metabolic bone disease
- Polycystic ovary syndrome
- Pituitary and adrenal disorders
- Lipid disorders
- Obesity
- General endocrinology
Dr. Roberts prioritizes clarity of purpose while engaging patients in their medical decisions to find the best-suited answers to complex questions.
Dr. Roberts’ Training
Dr. Roberts received his medical training from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, and performed his fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Miami School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital and affiliated hospitals.
Dr. Roberts also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
About Dr. Roberts
He has served the medical community as past president of the Orange County and Seminole County medical societies. Dr. Roberts is a professor of internal medicine at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and a clinical professor of clinical sciences at Florida State University in Tallahassee.
Dr. Roberts is a diplomate of and certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a fellow of both the American College of Physicians and American College of Endocrinology. He is certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in neck ultrasonography by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Dr. Roberts is a member of the American College of Endocrinology, American College of Physicians, American Institute for Healthcare Quality, and American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Physicians.
His research has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and he has served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Diabetes Research and Therapy and is on the editorial board of Internal Medicine News.
He was won numerous awards, including the Outstanding National Clinician Award from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists in 2023, Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors, Consumers’ Checkbook Guide to Top Doctors; Best Doctors in America, Marquis: Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who’s Who in the World.
Outside of work, Dr. Roberts enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and reading books about history and biographies.
He is fluent in English and Spanish.
