Bio
Dr. Yana Puckett is a board-certified general surgeon and complex general surgical oncologist with Orlando Health Cancer Institute. She specializes in breast surgical oncology, and her expertise includes:
- Nipple-sparing mastectomy
- Lumpectomy
- Breast biopsy
- Lymph node biopsy and dissection
- Surgery for high-risk patients
- Cosmetic breast surgery
- Hidden scar breast surgery
- Integrative nutrition
Dr. Puckett believes in compassionate, evidence-based, individualized care with a focus on surgical excellence and long-term outcomes. She strives to empower her patients with knowledge, guiding them through complex decisions with clarity and empathy, and integrating survivorship into every stage of treatment.
Dr. Puckett’s Training
Dr. Puckett earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at New York University and received her medical training from Ross University in Dominica. She earned a master’s degree in health outcomes research and evaluation sciences, a Master of Public Health with highest honors and completed a research fellowship at St. Louis University in Missouri. Dr. Puckett received a Master of Business Administration and completed a general surgery residency at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Her training continued with a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
About Dr. Puckett
Dr. Puckett is board certified in general surgery and complex general surgical oncology by the American Board of Surgery. She holds additional certifications in integrative nutrition and DaVinci robotic surgery.
Her research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals and books, and she has presented her work at national conferences.
Outside of work, Dr. Puckett enjoys spending time with family, staying active, reading, traveling and exploring new cultures.
She is fluent in English and Russian.

The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
