The officials unveiled the first free permanent sunscreen dispensers, sponsored by Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. The sunscreen dispensers are located at four points on the St. Pete Pier – on the fishing deck, near the restrooms adjacent to the Discovery Center, across from the Spa Beach Bistro and near the stairs leading to Spa Beach, which is where the unveiling occurred.

  • St. Petersburg City Council approves Bayfront Health land lease agreement with Orlando Health

    St. Petersburg, FL (July 9, 2020) – Today, Orlando Health received approval from the St. Petersburg City Council on a 50-year agreement to lease the land on which Bayfront Health is located. City approval of the land lease was required in order for Orlando Health to move forward with its acquisition of the hospital. In June, the healthcare organization signed a definitive agreement with Community Health Systems (CHS) to purchase Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

    Orlando, FL (November 12, 2021) – A new hospital with 136 inpatient beds plus 24 Emergency Department beds is coming to the south side of Lakeland that will soon increase access to high-quality health care for residents in the area’s fast-growing neighborhoods and communities. Orlando Health today announced it will begin to develop its Orlando Health Lakeland Highlands Hospital and associated campus on approximately 80 acres it owns south of the Polk Parkway at Lakeland Highlands Road and the Winter Lake Extension Road. Construction will begin in the late spring of 2022 and the new hospital is expected to be open by fall 2024.
