Orlando, FL (November 1, 2023) – Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies has received recognition from The Joint Commission, for their outstanding patient care and physician standards. The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. It’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care (ACPC) has been awarded to only 17 facilities across the country, and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer is the first in Florida to receive this designation.

Orlando Health Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Practices Find New Home Within Orlando Health Winnie Palmer
Orlando, FL (November 6, 2023) – Orlando Health Cancer Institute’s breast and gynecologic cancer services will have a new home starting Tuesday, November 7. Orlando, FL (June 3, 2024) –Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies has been recognized as a Maternal Levels of Care verified hospital by The Joint Commission through its collaboration with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and support from the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative. The national verification is awarded to those hospitals who meet comprehensive maternal standards of care based on guidelines established by ACOG that work to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.

Tiniest Baby to Ever Survive at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies Goes Home After 6 Months in the NICU
Orlando, FL (November 6, 2020) – Baby Diana Peguero is one of the smallest and most premature babies in the world to survive and thrive. She entered the world as the ultimate Mother's Day surprise on May 10, 2020 at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, when her mother was just 22 weeks pregnant. She is considered a "micro-preemie," born weighing 350 grams (12 ounces) and nine inches long. After examining her size and development, her medical team came to believe that she may have actually been younger than 22 weeks, as gestational age is just an estimate.
