Orlando Health Hospitals Named to the Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® List
Orlando, FL (April 27, 2021) – Multiple Orlando Health hospitals have been named to the Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® list. Orlando Health South Lake was named in the medium community hospital category and, in addition, received special recognition as an Everest Award winner. Everest Award winners are hospitals that earned the Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals designation and had the highest rates of improvement during a five-year period. Orlando Health South Lake is one of only 20 hospitals to receive the Everest Award and one of only two in the medium community hospital category.

Orlando Health Acquires FHV Health
Leesburg, FL (May 3, 2021) – Effective April 12, 2021, Orlando Health completed its acquisition of FHV Health, a multi-specialty group with locations throughout Lake, Sumter and Marion Counties. FHV Health consists of 19 physicians and 10 locations including primary care, cardiology practices and urgent care facilities.

COVID-19 Survivor Returns to Meet Hospital Staff That Saved Her Life
Ocoee, FL (October 12, 2021) – Today physicians and team members at Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital staged an intimate reunion ceremony for a COVID-19 survivor who spent 40 days in the hospital’s critical care unit. Maureen Woods, 56, returned to the very same patient room to thank the joyous team of healthcare workers who played such vital roles in saving her life.

Orlando Health Hosts Alzheimer’s Walk For Residents & Family
Residents of the facility’s memory care unit joined loved ones, team members and community supporters as they walked and wheeled around the planned parade route just outside the facility’s front door. The nearly 70 participants wore t-shirts bearing the purple ribbon symbolizing Alzheimer’s awareness and carried purple pinwheels bearing the names of loved ones suffering from the disease.

Orlando Health awarded top certifications for digital health excellence
Orlando, FL (October 26, 2021) – Orlando Health has been awarded two level 8 certifications for digital health by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). The honors are in the acute care and ambulatory care settings. Orlando Health’s level 8 designations are a result of the organization having deployed technologies and strategies to help analyze data, achieved meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes and introduced advanced technologies, like telehealth, to expand access to care. With the level 8 certifications, Orlando Health is designated a ‘Most Wired” organization by CHIME.

Mom reunites with newborn after 85-day hospital stay to overcome COVID-19
Orlando, Fla. (October 29, 2021) – At a near full term pregnancy, Paola Gambini, began her 85-day hospital stay when difficulty breathing from COVID-19 led to an emergency C-section. The newborn was delivered at Orlando Health Winne Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. Due to the severity of her condition, Paola was soon transferred to Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center for the duration of her care. The 32-year-old mom is now reunited at home with her baby and family.
