Dr. P. Phillips Hospital 30th Anniversary Celebrates Commitment to Community
ORLANDO, FL. (November 16, 2015) – Orlando Health’s Dr. P. Phillips Hospital celebrates its 30th anniversary this month. The hospital, which opened in 1985 as Sand Lake Hospital, shares a unique bond with the Dr. Phillips community. Built on property that was Dr. Philip Phillips’ first orange grove in Orange County, the opening of the hospital brought critical healthcare services to the southwest community, including a 24-hour emergency department. Now, 30 years later, that 150-bed hospital has grown to 237-beds, and its emergency department treats more than 80,000 patients each year.

Orlando Health announces new president of Dr. P. Phillips Hospital
Orlando, FL (March 15, 2016) – Orlando Health has named Thibaut van Marcke, senior vice president, Orlando Health and president, Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. Mr. van Marcke most recently served as vice president and chief operating officer for HCA - North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, a 432-bed tertiary care hospital. In that position, he was responsible for all hospital operations including executive oversight of surgical services, cardiovascular services, and all ancillary and support departments.

Lakeview Surgery Center opens in Dr. Phillips
Orlando, FL (April 11, 2022) – As part of its commitment to offer patients access to high-quality healthcare closer to home, the physicians at the Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute Gastroenterology – Dr. Phillips now have a new ambulatory surgery center where they provide general gastroenterology outpatient procedures. The Lakeview Surgery Center, an affiliate of Orlando Health, recently opened in the busy Southwest Orlando corridor on the Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital campus.

Members of the Dr. P. Phillips Hospital Emergency Department participated in last weekend’s Independence Spring Festival – an event that hosts local vendors, food trucks, games and activities for families. The team’s tent featured Orlando Health first-aid kits, pamphlets and flyers. The Air Care team even did a fly over of the event!

Orlando, FL (May 12, 2021) – Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital has named a new chief operating officer (COO) to oversee daily operations and new business strategies at the full-service hospital located in Orlando’s highly populated tourism corridor. Tim O’Brien will step into the vacant COO role on May 17, replacing Ohme Entin, who was promoted to president of Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital.
