Under the arrangement, Jewett Orthopaedic became part of Orlando Health on December 31, 2019. Jewett Orthopaedic physicians and team members will be fully integrated into Orlando Health. The current practices of Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic and Orlando Health Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Group, formerly known as Level One Orthopedics, will begin working to leverage the strengths of both groups for the benefit of the region.

Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Hand Surgeon Invents New Splint for Better Patient Outcomes
Orlando, FL (February 26, 2026) – Orlando Health has launched a pilot study of a new splint, invented by one of its own physicians, to improve patient care following a hand or wrist injury. Jeffrey Deren, MD has been practicing medicine for 30 years and saw an opportunity to enhance patient experience and outcomes with the invention of “SafeSplint.” The splint is currently being trialed at several Orlando Health emergency departments and the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute – Alafaya/Waterford Lakes walk-in clinic before systemwide and nationwide distribution.

Orlando Health Surgeons Use 3d-Printed Fetus Models To Prepare For In-Utero Procedure
(ORLANDO, Florida) – A state-of-the-art in-utero procedure allows surgeons to correct a birth defect on developing babies inside the womb. But operating on a mother and her unborn child at the same time can be challenging and unpredictable. To give their world-class surgeons even more information ahead of surgery, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies is using MRI and ultrasound imaging along with 3D-printing technology to create a first-of-its-kind detailed model that allows surgeons to plan procedures ahead of time, identifying potential obstacles and reducing the risks of surgery.
