• Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Announces Participation in Leading International, Multicenter Clinical Trials

  Orlando, FL (March 5, 2024) – The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute has become a center in three international, multicenter clinical research trials that seek to improve orthopedic surgery outcomes for people around the world. Sports medicine surgeon Bruce Levy, MD, who served as a site principal investigator in his previous role at the Mayo Clinic, brought the clinical trials to Orlando Health when he joined the team last fall. He’s now the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute academic chief of sports medicine and director of the sports medicine surgical fellowship program.

• New Mural Installed in St. Petersburg’s Innovation District

  St. Petersburg, FL (March 28, 2025) – Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital celebrated the installation of a new mural on its newly expanded ambulance bay, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ambulance bay, which went from accommodating four ambulances, can now safely hold up to 13 emergency transport vehicles at a time.

• Orlando Health is first in Florida to use device that repositions patients up to 750 pounds in hospital bed

  Orlando, FL (September 23, 2024) Orlando Health is the first healthcare system in Florida to use the Hercules Patient Repositioning system, an automated device able to reposition patients in a hospital bed. The system, which can accommodate patients who weigh up to 750 pounds, increases the comfort of patients, optimizes the safety of clinical team members and streamlines clinical workflows.
