  • Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Initiates Investigational Ablation Trial for Typical Atrial Flutter

    St. Petersburg, Fl (June 23, 2021) – Bayfront Health St. Petersburg today announced that it is participating in a new global clinical study designed to establish the safety and efficacy of an investigational ablation system for patients experiencing typical atrial flutter. Bayfront Health St. Petersburg is one of up to 20 centers participating in the U.S. and Europe in the study of the AcQBlate FORCE Sensing Ablation System. 

  • Orlando Health Celebrates Topping Out of Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute

    Orlando, FL (December 13, 2021) – Today Orlando Health leaders, physicians, team members, and community partners came together to celebrate a major milestone in the construction of the new orthopedic medical complex currently underway on Orlando Health’s booming downtown Orlando campus. The health system staged a traditional Topping Out ceremony to mark the end of the vertical construction phase of its newest specialty hospital, the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. The ceremony culminated with the final placement of an 11 ft. steel beam that had been signed by hundreds of Orlando Health team members and was sandwiched between two giant replicas of a human femur bone[i].

    St. Petersburg, FL – (July 21, 2021) – Bayfront Hospital St. Petersburg is among the first hospitals in Florida to offer Inspire, an innovative FDA-approved device that treats sleep apnea without requiring patients to wear a CPAP (continuous positive air pressure) mask while they sleep. Trina Espinola, MD., the chief medical officer at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, and Julia Pfaff, MD., who specializes in image-guided and minimally invasive otolaryngology techniques, are among the first physicians to treat patients at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with this innovative technology.

  • Bayfront Health St. Petersburg to increase starting wage to a minimum of $15 an hour in multi-step process

    Orlando, FL (January 25, 2021) - Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and parent company, Orlando Health, have announced a raise in the company’s starting wages to at least $15 an hour in a multi-step process. Beginning January 31, 2021, the organization’s minimum wage will increase from $11 to $13. The minimum $15 an hour will go into in effect in 2023. The increase represents an annual investment in its team members of over $4 million by Orlando Health.

    WINTER GARDEN, FL (January 19, 2021) – Today Orlando Health held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newest facility, the Orlando Health - Horizon West Hospital. Located in Winter Garden in the rapidly developing community of Horizon West, Orlando Health leaders, physicians and team members were on hand to celebrate the completion of the latest phase of the Horizon West medical campus. Horizon West Hospital will be the health system’s 10th acute care facility and the organization’s first newly constructed hospital in more than 15 years.
