In January 2024, Orlando Health launched the Critical Care Ground Transport service. The Air Care Team provides training and knowledge to the new ground unit staff. Orlando Health currently operates two ground units 24/7, 365 days per year, with a third unit operating from 11:00 am - 11:00 pm. One of the units is a Critical Care Unit, providing ICU-level care with a nurse and paramedic crew. The remaining two units operated as ALS (Advanced Life Support) units, each staffed with one paramedic. All units are operated and driven by Air Method's EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians). Each unit is strategically stationed at Orlando Health hospitals.
