Research and Education at Orlando Health Colon and Rectal Institute
Research and education are foundational to Orlando Health Colon and Rectal Institute’s commitment to advancing care for colorectal disorders. A robust research program allows our physicians to actively participate in clinical research initiatives that will help to enhance care for patients with conditions affecting the colon, small bowel, rectum and anus. It also gives patients potential access to innovative treatment options that are not yet widely available.
Our physicians also are directly involved in the training of the next generation of colorectal physicians. Orlando Health offers a fully accredited colon and rectal surgery fellowship program that offers training in the most advanced surgical care and techniques in colon and rectal surgery. Advanced education of the highest quality, combining teaching, clinical service, safe patient care and research is a high priority of our institute.
