Vijaykumar Kasi, MD, PhD

Vice President, Orlando Health; President, Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute

Dr. Vijay Kasi is responsible for the strategic development and operational performance of Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute, leading efforts for growth, excellence and coordination of cardiovascular care for the health system.

Previously, Vijay held positions as director of the cardiac catheterization lab, director of cardiovascular research and director of the interventional cardiology fellowship training program at Orlando Health.

After completing medical school at Kasturba Medical College-Manipal in Karnataka, India, Vijay earned his PhD from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He performed his internship and residency at East Carolina University School of Medicine (Vidant Medical Center) followed by fellowships in cardiovascular disease at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta and interventional cardiology at Beaumont Health in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Vijay is board certified in interventional cardiology. His research interests include regenerative medicine, stem cell therapy and structural heart clinical trials. He has received several awards, been published in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited to speak nationally and internationally.
