Alyson Vezina, Pharm.D.
Dr. Alyson Vezina is from Oviedo, FL. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Florida. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center. During her PGY2 Oncology residency at Orlando Health, she will participate in direct patient care, conduct a research project evaluating the safety and efficacy of pembrolizumab in gynecologic malignancies, and conduct a medication use evaluation regarding hypophosphatemia associated with parenteral iron products. She will be presenting a continuing & education seminar on non-factor therapies for hemophilia. Upon completion of residency, she plans to pursue a clinical specialist position in hematology/oncology.

Christina Thomas, Pharm.D.
Dr. Christina Thomas, from Springfield, IL, received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN in 2020. She completed her PGY1 residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center in 2021. During her PGY2 residency in pediatrics at Arnold Palmer Hospital, Dr. Thomas will participate in daily patient care rounds and pediatric code coverage. She will complete a research project evaluating the effect of maternal fixed-dose versus weight-based vancomycin on the prevention of group B streptococcal early-onset disease in neonates. In addition, she will conduct an MUE assessing a sedation protocol in the pediatric intensive care unit. She will also present a seminar on treatment-resistant pediatric epilepsy. Following completion of her residency, Dr. Thomas plans to pursue a career as a clinical specialist in pediatric pharmacy.

Leila Becirevic, Pharm.D.
Dr. Leila Becirevic, from Sarasota, Florida, obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Florida and completed her PGY-1 at ORMC! She is excited to be a PGY-2 in critical care and hopes to practice in critical care or emergency medicine in the future. She enjoys exploring new places with friends, hanging out with her two cats (Chloe and Cody), and going on walks!

Rohan Johnson, Pharm.D.
Dr. Rohan Johnson, from Orlando, FL, received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2021. He completed his PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Orlando Health – Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, FL. As a PGY-2 emergency medicine pharmacy resident at Orlando Health – Orlando Regional Medical Center, Dr. Johnson will participate in direct patient-care rounds and monthly code coverage. He will complete a research project evaluating the impact of emergency medicine pharmacists’ schedules and other associated operational/clinical duties on their perceived burnout rates. In addition, he will conduct a medication use evaluation on the duration of antibiotics prescribed at discharge from the emergency department. He will also present a continuing education seminar on the chemical management of acute stable arrhythmias. Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Johnson plans to pursue a clinical specialist position in emergency medicine.

Mikali Shedd, Pharm.D.
Dr. Mikali Shedd is from San Antonio, TX. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of the Incarnate Word – Feik School of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. During her PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency at Orlando Health, she will participate in direct patient care, conduct a research project assessing practice variations in prophylactic antibiotic management for type III open fracture among trauma centers in the United States, and conduct a medication use evaluation on insulin pump processes and management. She will be presenting a continuing education seminar on checklists and simulations for emergency situations. Upon completion of residency, she plans to pursue a clinical specialist position in emergency medicine.

Application Information
Our rigorous sports residency curriculum implements a balanced combination of educational and academic training, along with multiple clinical and on-field opportunities, in conjunction with one-on-one mentoring during live patient care, located at one of our affiliated Orlando Health outpatient clinics. Residents will have the opportunity to work directly with the Orlando City Soccer Club as part of their practical experience, in addition to our numerous local high school affiliations that will allow the resident to develop their skill set within the area of acute injury management.
