Rehabilitation from an injury that takes you out of your sport can be the most frustrating part of being an athlete. No matter what age group you are in, not being able to complete those activities that you love can lead to increased stress, and difficulty with concentration. Minimizing the time that you spend out of sport can reduce emotional impact of your injury. Our staff here at Orlando Health will work with you one on one to minimize your time out of sport, educate you and your family on ways to avoid further injury, and assist you in complete transition back to doing what you love.
Whether exercise and sports are what you do to stay in shape, you're a high school athlete, or a senior playing club sports that you have always loved we will strive to return you to your sports.
We will utilize:
- Strength training
- Gait training
- Home exercise program instruction
- Manual therapy
- 3D Motion Analysis
- Sport simulation activities
- Sportsmetrics™
Sportsmetric™s is training specifically for rehabilitation after an ACL tear, or preventation of an ACL injury. This training was developed in Cincinnati by Dr. Frank Noyes. We have implemented it here in our clinic because of the research based training that Sportsmetrics™ applies. Our downtown office at Sligh blvd is a certified site for Sportsmetrics™ training.
We have provided physical therapy services for the Orlando Ballet Theater for the past 15 years. Our therapists are committed to helping you return to the performing arts that you love. We have worked with dancers who perform with smaller dance studios throughout the Orlando area. We are familiar with working with families and dance instructors on return to dance in a safe and form correct way. We have also provided a multitude of therapy services for local theme parks, and other performing artists such as drum players, harpists, or violinists.
No matter what sport or performing art you participate in our therapists will implement a plan of care that addresses your deficits and assists you to begin to return as soon as possible.
