Orlando Health Honored with Seminole State College’s Community Pathfinder Award Presented

Recognized for outstanding innovation and dedicated service.

Orlando, FL (December 7, 2023) – Seminole State College of Florida recognized Orlando Health as a Community Pathfinder at their “State of the College” Convocation. Presented by college president Dr. Georgia Lorenz, Orlando Health received the award for the healthcare system’s outstanding innovation and dedicated service.

“We are honored to receive the 2023 Community Pathfinder Award from Seminole State College, recognizing Orlando Health’s commitment to service and innovation in our community,” said Shawn Molsberger, senior vice president, Orlando Health Northeast Region and president, Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital. “Our relationship with Seminole State College through the Preferred Education Program has provided our team members greater educational opportunities and further strengthened our commitment to them and this community.”

Orlando Health expanded its Preferred Education Program (PEP) in 2021 by launching a new partnership with Seminole State College of Florida and creates more opportunities for Orlando Health team members to pursue an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or technical certificate without incurring any out-of-pocket costs.

Orlando Health first launched the Preferred Education Program in December 2020 in partnership with Valencia College. Flexible online courses at Seminole State College and Valencia College make it easier for team members to balance career, personal life and learning at a pace that works for them regardless of where they work at Orlando Health.

Orlando Health, the only organization to receive an award, was recognized along with other volunteers and partners at Seminole State College’s Convocation.
