    The volunteer Services office offers volunteer opportunities here at South Seminole Hospital and at the UF Health Cancer Center Infusion located in Lake Mary.  There are several different types of Adult volunteer opportunities throughout the hospital listed below.  Please note that there may be opportunities not included below but may still be available.  If you are interested in volunteering with a department that is not included in the list below, you may bring this to our attention directly and we will try to accommodate you.

  • Air Care Team

    The ORMC Air Care Team began operations on October 13, 1984 and completed their first scene flight and patient flight on November 17, 1984, which involved two patients from Florida's Turnpike in Osceola County.

  • Surgical Services

    The surgical suites at Orlando Regional Medical Center are second to none in Central Florida.

  • ACL and PCL Repair and Replacement

    The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is located on the front side of the knee and connects the tibia (larger of the 2 bones in the lower leg) and the femur (the thighbone). The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is located on the back side of the knee and also connects the tibia and the femur. Both ligaments can be torn if the knee is twisted unnaturally.

  • Curriculum

    Patients with all types of pulmonary hypertension (WHO groups 1-5) are actively evaluated and treated in the Pulmonary hypertension clinic within the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. All faculty physicians are board-certified pulmonologists with a special interest and expertise in pulmonary vascular disease and hemodynamic evaluation. Modern diagnostic modalities, including cardiac MRI and cardiopulmonary exercise testing, are available. Treatment modalities include oral drugs as well as inhaled, subcutaneous and intravenous medications. Clinics offer mechanical and surgical rescue therapies (e.g., ECMO, right ventricular support devices) The program will soon be in the evaluation and accreditation phase to become a Pulmonary Hypertension Association Accredited Center of Comprehensive Care.
