Orlando Health - Health Central's 440,000 square-foot 216-bed Joint Commission accredited, acute care hospital and physician offices include a 36-bed Emergency Department, Rehabilitation Services for inpatient and outpatient care, and a complete Surgical Suite that includes seven operating rooms and an outpatient center for diagnostic testing.
Orlando Health - Health Central has continued to advance its cardiovascular care offerings with its team of interventional cardiologists, catheterization suites, minimally invasive interventional vascular and cardiac procedures and the addition of its Chest Pain Center for specialized chest pain observation and treatment. The hospital is also recognized as a Joint Commission accredited Primary Stroke Receiving Center.
According to Hospital Compare, Medicare's public web site, Orlando Health - Health Central ranks in the top 10th percentile nationally in quality measures for treatment of acute myocardial infarction (heart attacks), heart failure and prevention of blood clots. The hospital's performance in quality measures to prevent surgical site infections, stroke care and treatment of pneumonia exceeds both Florida state and national performance benchmarks.
Orlando Health - Health Central has a 24x7 intensivist program which enhances the care provided to ICU patients and engages physicians with advanced critical care board certification who specialize in treating the most seriously ill or injured patients. The facilityl has the ability to Robodoc in the intensive care unit. Officially known as RP-7, the high-tech robot is equipped with technology and medical tools to allow doctors to be in two places at once. RP-7 features interactive software to connect an offsite, intensivist with patients, nurses and other clinicians.
Orlando Health Cancer Institute in Ocoee opened in 2018. A collaborative offering of Orlando Health and the University of Florida, the cancer center offers the community general radiation oncology, chemotherapy, IV therapy and supportive care-all close to home.
