  • Patient and Family Advisory Council

    Health Central Hospital's Patient and Family Advisory Council is made up of 15-20 volunteers including former patients, caregivers and family members who meet monthly to promote and improve relationships between patients, families and team members. This council provides a way for patients and families to review or create hospital policies and programs, and to communicate with staff how Health Central is working for you.

  • Our Smoke-Free Campus

    Effective July 1, 2008, all Health Central Hospital campuses has become tobacco-free. Our mission is to improve the health of our community. As part of that, we believe it is necessary to create a healthier environment for everyone that comes to a Health Central Hospital campus. This includes those who come here to receive care, visit a patient or work.

  • Colon and Rectal Care

    At Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital, we understand the impact that colon and rectal disorders can have on daily life. As part of a multidisciplinary approach to care, we work together with specialists at the Orlando Health Colon and Rectal Institute, along with the Orlando Health Cancer Institute, which has earned accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer for providing high-quality rectal cancer care.

  • Diabetes Education and Outpatient Program

    Health Central Hospital Diabetes Center is accredited by the American Diabetic Association. It strives to bring education, wellness and fitness to diabetics. It is a comprehensive program, which helps those who are pre-diabetics, newly diagnosed, Gestational diabetes or those who just need help with blood glucose control. Classes are in a group setting. Individual times can be scheduled as needed.

  • Heart and Vascular Care

    Heart and vascular conditions include heart attack, coronary artery disease, congenital (present at birth) heart defects and stroke. Through the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute, the cardiovascular experts at Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital care for all types of heart and vascular conditions with the latest proven methods and technology.

    As well as the salary and insurance benefits of being a Midwife Fellow, participation in the Fellowship carries significantly more “nonmeasurable” benefits. This Fellowship will provide a significant step-up in your career transition into becoming a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) hospitalist. It will provide significant experience, training, and development of skills and knowledge that will carry through your entire career. It will also provide opportunities for networking and exposure, which otherwise would be hard to replicate. If the Fellow decides to stay with Orlando Health after successful completion of the program, the Fellowship effectively becomes a one-year on-boarding process, spring boarding your transition into a successful practice.

    The Postgraduate PA Surgery Trauma Fellowship is 12-months of clinical practice-based experience along with didactic learning in various surgical specialties as well as the care of the trauma patient from their first encounter in the Emergency department through their continuum of care in the ICU, hospital floor and eventual discharge. The fellowship rotations may include:

  • Hematology Oncology Fellowship

    The mission of the fellowship program is to provide a balanced program of clinical training and clinical research experience and develop excellent clinicians, with a strong background in clinical research, who can function in an academic institution or a community based practice.

  • Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship

    Our program offers a well-balanced education in pediatric orthopedics from conservative to innovative surgical management. We have a strong emphasis on "hands-on" operative and clinical experience.
