About the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute

Cardiac rehabilitation (cardiac rehab) can help strengthen your heart and get you back to the activities you love. We offer two rehabilitation programs:

  • Cardiac rehabilitation. Our cardiac rehab program helps you manage your existing heart or vascular condition or help you recover after a heart or vascular procedure.
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation. Our pulmonary rehab program helps you increase your lung and heart strength while managing your existing heart and lung condition or after a lung or heart procedure.

Our three-part cardiac rehab program can improve how well your heart works and increase your overall endurance:

  • Phase one - Inpatient. This phase begins in the hospital after a heart procedure or heart event. We’ll help slowly get you moving again and teach you how to live a healthier life.
  • Phase two - Outpatient. This phase continues after you leave the hospital following a heart procedure or heart event. You can also start here if you are managing a heart condition and need to improve your lifestyle and strengthen your heart health.
  • Phase three - Maintenance. This phase allows our cardiac rehab team to continue to supervise your progress.

The Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute cardiac rehabilitation team is here to support your journey to a new way of living. We help you build strength and improve your quality of life after a heart problem.
