Eugene L. Jewett, MD, founder of the Jewett Orthopedic Clinic, was internationally recognized as an orthopedic pioneer and inventor for developing one of the most commonly used devices for treating hip fractures worldwide. The city of Orlando Mayor Bill Frederick proclaimed April 11, 1985, Eugene Jewett MD Day.

When it comes to joint replacements, our surgeons continue to be at the forefront. We did the first total hip replacement in Florida and the first total knee replacement in Central Florida. One of our doctors also performed the region’s first knee arthroscopic surgery.
