At Orlando Health Women's Institute Center for Maternal Health, we are committed to ensuring every woman has the care and support for a healthy pregnancy and birth. Our focus is addressing the increasing rates of maternal morbidity and mortality in our community and giving women comprehensive care throughout their pregnancy and for a year after giving birth.
With our mobile clinics and telehealth visits, moms and babies have easy access to quality care. In addition to providing women with medical care, our programs help women with community resources, including housing, transportation, and healthy food options.
With a mission to bridge gaps in healthcare, we target key social drivers of health, provide mental health support and ensure critical prenatal care to promote the health and well-being for all women and their infants.
Programs We Offer
Maternal Telehealth Program
Our Maternal Telehealth Program offers free personalized virtual care from pregnancy through one year after delivery, with a dedicated nursing team for expert support every step of the way.
By enrolling in this program, you will have access to nurse navigators who will help answer any questions you may have, provide pregnancy and postpartum education, and connect you to local organizations to access other resources, such as food and baby supplies.
Mobile Clinic Program
Our Mobile Clinic serves maternity care deserts, which are areas with no nearby hospital offering obstetric services and no OB-GYN physicians or certified nurse midwife providers.
The Mobile Clinic gives women comprehensive OB-GYN prenatal and postpartum care, including routine prenatal visits, ultrasounds and postpartum support.
Doula Program
A birth doula provides pregnant women and new parents physical and emotional support. Working with a doula may help to improve birth outcomes, including shortened labor, reduced need for interventions such as C-sections, and increased breastfeeding success. Doulas, who are non-medical professionals, can help lower your anxiety and stress, and make childbirth a positive and satisfying experience.
Our certified doulas provide prenatal and postpartum visits, either in-person or virtually, as well as support during childbirth at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.
Program Eligibility
Pregnant women 18 or older (or with parental consent if younger than 18) who are at greater risk for experiencing severe maternal health issues, such as anemia, high blood pressure or even unstable housing situations, are able to join one of our programs.
In addition, you must live in Orange, Seminole, Lake, Osceola, Polk, Sumter, Volusia or Brevard counties; not be incarcerated or on probation; or have DCF involvement with your family.
