Jason Atienza

As chief quality officer and medical director of Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute, Jason Atienza, MD, MBA, FACHE, oversees the quality and safety of all programs and services offered at the institute. His dual roles include collaboration with leadership and medical staff to support activities, processes and policies that align with systemwide clinical practices and standards and result in high-quality patient care and safety. Jason also will continue as corporate medical director of Orlando Health Rehabilitation Medicine, overseeing administrative areas of the department and managing all members of the care team across multiple rehabilitation facilities.

Jason has a passion for neurologic rehabilitation and is committed to working with the interdisciplinary team to identify opportunities that drive improvements in quality of care, outcomes and patient experience. As a physician leader, he has been integral in creating the vision for the institute and in driving growth of the rehabilitation program. Jason has been with Orlando Health for more than eight years, serving on multiple committees, including as Neuroscience Institute Executive Council physician member, Bioethics Committee corporate co-chair, Partners In Care physician engagement program co-founder and Post-Acute Physicians Council co-chair.

After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in physiology, Jason earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of California at San Francisco and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. Jason earned an MBA in healthcare management from Western Governors University and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Jason is board certified by and a member of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership and the Florida Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
