Jim Murray, MBA, FACHE

Jim Murray serves as vice president of Hospital Based Medicine for Orlando Health Medical Group. With more than 20 years of experience in hospital and medical group administration, he oversees strategies, processes and education around customer experience, access and a standardized operational approach to clinic workflows. In his role, Jim supports the medical group’s hospital-based specialties, including hospitalist services, critical care medicine, general surgery, bariatrics, trauma, pulmonary, infectious disease and palliative care.

Prior to Orlando Health, Jim held leadership roles across multi-hospital health systems. He served as vice president and chief operating officer at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital in Houston, Texas, where he developed business plans for service line initiatives in gastrointestinal, robotics, orthopedics and electrophysiology. As vice president and chief operating officer of Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California, Jim collaborated with joint ventures in outpatient radiology and ambulatory surgery and developed facility improvement projects.

Jim earned both a bachelor’s in engineering technology and an MBA from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
