Matt Abbene

Assistant Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Orlando Health Medical Group

Matt Abbene serves as assistant vice president and chief administrative officer for Orlando Health Medical Group. In this role, Matt collaborates with Orlando Health Medical Group service lines to develop, implement and oversee strategic growth, focusing on quality, access and customer experience.

Previously, Matt served as senior director of strategic initiative implementation, where he managed plans to improve access to primary and specialty care. He joined Orlando Health in 2019 as an improvement system coach for Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center and later became the improvement system manager for Corporate Quality.

Matt has more than 15 years of business leadership experience with Central Florida healthcare facilities and spent a decade developing project plans to enhance clinical and operational performance. Matt earned a bachelor’s and master’s in health administration from the University of Central Florida and has been an adjunct instructor in UCF’s health services administration undergraduate and health administration graduate programs since 2017.
