Matthew Thomas

Matthew Thomas oversees all financial operations of Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital as chief financial officer. His responsibilities include providing financial expertise, monitoring daily operating expenses and developing key performance indicators. An established healthcare leader with strong financial abilities, Matthew brings 17 years of finance and accounting experience and 12 years in healthcare to the role.

Prior to joining Orlando Health, Matthew was senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Appalachian Regional Healthcare System in Boone, North Carolina, where he was involved in construction planning and implementation of a 100,000-square-foot bed tower addition. He previously had served in progressive financial healthcare leadership roles with hospitals in Murphy, North Carolina; Natchez, Mississippi; San Angelo, Texas and Franklin, Tennessee. Before moving into healthcare, Matthew worked as a senior accountant for the largest public accounting firm in Tennessee.

Matthew earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and master's degree in accountancy from the University of Tennessee.
