Michael McLaughlin, MD, is the chief medical officer for the Orlando Health East Florida Region. In this role, he ensures that evidence-based practice standards and protocols are in place to deliver the highest quality and efficiency in patient care.

With over 25 years of experience as a practicing surgeon and physician executive, Michael possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise in building trusted relationships with physicians and team members. He spent nearly a decade with Health First in Brevard County, most recently serving as chief medical officer of the hospital division. Previously, he practiced as a surgical specialist with medical groups in Brevard County.

Michael earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta and a medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a general surgery internship and residency at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center, serving as chief resident. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and served for more than a decade as an assistant professor of surgery for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
