Rafael Mañon, MD

As president of Orlando Health Cancer Institute, Dr. Rafael Mañon is responsible for the strategic development and operational performance of the organization’s oncology services. Rafael brings nearly two decades of experience as a dynamic physician leader as well as a knowledgeable and compassionate patient care provider to his role.

Since joining Orlando Health Cancer Institute in 2005, Rafael has served in several leadership positions including Department of Radiation Oncology chair, Radiation Safety Committee chair, Head and Neck Quality Committee chair, and research director of radiation oncology.

Rafael earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. He completed an internal medicine internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and a radiation oncology residency at the University of Wisconsin, where he served as chief resident.

Rafael has been published in numerous medical journals and textbooks, has served as principal investigator on clinical research studies, and has been a frequent presenter at national conferences. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society for Radiation Oncology and NRG Oncology. Rafael is an avid martial arts athlete and has earned a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
