Satyanarayana Mukkera, MD

As chief medical officer, Satya Mukkera, MD, oversees the quality and safety of all programs and services offered at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC).

Satya previously served as chief quality officer for Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital and Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital. He joined Orlando Health as a critical care intensivist at Orlando Health ORMC and later served as medical director for the ICU at Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital and chair of the Unit Quality Triad for the medical ICU at Orlando Health ORMC. He is board certified in critical care medicine and neurocritical care and played an integral part in the Orlando Health ORMC teaching program. He holds faculty appointments at the University of Central Florida and the College of Medicine at Florida State University.

Before joining Orlando Health, Satya was chair of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Springfield Clinic in Springfield, Illinois, and director of the medical ICU at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Satya earned his medical degree from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in Bangalore, India, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his internal medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in critical care medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) and a Certified Physician Executive (CPE).
