Sean Michaels, DNP

Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Alabama Region

Sean Michaels is vice president and chief information officer of the Alabama Region, leading IT and clinical engineering for Baptist Health. In this role, he oversees strategic and operational alignment of information technology and clinical engineering capabilities, as well as services supporting care delivery to all Alabama Region sites. Sean also leads the digital and technology integration of the new Alabama market.

Sean joined Orlando Health in 2023, bringing more than 26 years of healthcare experience to his position as Orlando Health’s associate vice president of project management, technology business management and enterprise architecture. Before joining Orlando Health, he was chief nursing informatics officer and vice president of operations and service delivery at Health First, Inc.

Sean earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, a master’s degree in nursing informatics from Chamberlain University and an MBA from Ashford University in Chandler, Arizona. He holds a doctorate in nursing practice (DNP), nurse executive from the University of Central Florida.
