Knowing the many language needs of our patients and families, Orlando Health provides interpreter services in three different modalities:
- Over the phone interpreting (150+ foreign languages)
- In-person (foreign languages and sign language)
- Via video (foreign languages and sign language)
It is important to note that all of our patients with limited English proficiency have the right to obtain an interpreter at NO COST to them.
In addition we provide:
- Translated documents
- Listening devices for hard-of-hearing Patients (TTY or TTD)
The quality of communications between patients and healthcare providers is a strong determinant of whether patients will have optimal outcomes. By using interpreter services and resources, we provide a better experience and safer environment for patients with limited English proficiency.
