Bio
Dr. Alfonso Preciado is a board-certified general surgeon with Orlando Health Medical Group Surgery. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and his areas of expertise include:
- Hiatal hernia and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD)
- Abdominal wall hernia
- Inguinal hernia
- Cholecystectomy
- Abdominal surgery
- Colon surgery
- Small bowel resection
- Surgical emergencies
- Appendectomy
- Removal of soft tissue masses
- Thyroid surgery
- Anti-reflux surgery
Dr. Preciado’s philosophy of care centers on treating his patients as he would want his own family to be treated and giving patients all the information available to help them make the best decisions for their health.
Dr. Preciado’s Training
Dr. Preciado received his medical training from the University of Panama. He completed a general surgery internship and residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he became chief resident during his final year. He completed his fellowship in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
About Dr. Preciado
Dr. Preciado is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
He has been published extensively on topics including surgical endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery, and he has delivered numerous presentations on his work.
Outside of work, Dr. Preciado enjoys hiking, skiing, home repair and cooking paella.
He is fluent in English and Spanish.
