Bio
Karen Burkli Schiffer is a certified physician assistant (PA-C) at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute Breast Diagnostic Clinic. She has been a practicing physician assistant in Florida since 2010 and caring for cancer patients since 2013.
As a member of the clinic team, she:
- Provides patient counseling
- Manages patients’ side effects from radiation treatment
- Evaluates cancer genetic results
- Collaborates with and refers to other specialists
- Coordinates procedures and care plans
- Educates patients about prescribed therapies
Karen’s Training
Karen earned a master of physician assistant studies degree (MPAS) from the University of Nebraska in Omaha. She received her bachelor’s degree in health science from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and her physician assistant degree (PA-C) from Miami Dade College.

Karen has experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, including at the University of Miami – Sylvester Cancer Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami and the Miami Cancer Institute. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is certified as a physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
