About the Orlando Health Cancer Institute
Orlando Health Cancer Institute has been providing exceptional and compassionate care in Central Florida for more than 37 years, led by the best cancer doctors in our state-of-the-art facilities.
When you come to us for your care, you are in good hands. Your team will be led by doctors, nurses and other experts who have special training to create the best possible treatment plan for you.
We understand the importance of being close to home, family and friends during cancer treatment. That's why we offer high-quality care throughout Central Florida.
Our flagship location is the Charles Lewis Pavilion, a 10-story, 220,000-square-foot facility with 60 private inpatient beds dedicated to our oncology units. The multidisciplinary cancer facility contains the services needed for your care – from diagnosis through all phases of treatment and follow-up. Our team includes board-certified surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, therapists, advanced practice providers and researchers.
Since our beginning in 1983 as the ORMC Center for Cancer Treatment, we’ve treated more than 100,000 patients. We measure our success one patient at a time. When you choose Orlando Health Cancer Institute, you can be sure you are getting the most innovative and advanced treatments and technologies.
In 2016, the institute opened the $25 million Marjorie and Leonard Williams Center for Proton Therapy – the only one of its kind in Central Florida and one of five in the state. It allows the targeting of tumors with higher doses of radiation, while significantly reducing damage to healthy tissue.
Doctors at Orlando Health Cancer Institute also participate in numerous research studies and clinical trials, allowing us to bring leading-edge treatment options to our patients.
The institute has a new Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program using autologous and allogeneic BMT to treat adult blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. The program targets high-risk patients, including those with comorbidities such as heart disease or uncontrolled cancer.
Also at the institute is the Cancer Genetics and High-Risk Care Center – the only one of its kind in Central Florida – focusing on patients identified as high risk for breast and other cancers by personal history, family history or genetic testing. Patients work closely with an oncologist and genetic counselor to build a roadmap for the future, including surveillance, risk-reduction plan and lifestyle changes.
No matter what cancer diagnosis you face, the Orlando Health Cancer Institute will give you the best of care.
We also have treatment locations in Ocoee, Clermont and Lake Mary, as well as our Dr. Phillips location in Orlando, along with more than 10 practice locations to serve our patients from all over the state.
Our first and largest campus is our state-of-the-art Charles Lewis Pavilion. The 10-story building is 220,000 square feet. The Charles Lewis Pavilion offers all the services and support you need from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.

I CHOOSE PROTON THERAPY TO ELIMINATE MY CANCER.
I really want to be an oncologist when I grow up to help other kids who are going through the same experience that I did. I would probably say that what I took away from this is just to live life to the fullest. Just do what you can in the moment.

I CHOOSE A FAMILY OF PHYSICIANS.
When I got home, a package had been delivered. It was my Patient Resource Guide. At first, it was a shock, and I didn’t want to look at because it made it all real. But in the long run, it was a great help.

I’ve had so much success with Orlando Health – they saved my life.
I never expected to hear that I had stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes. You could say I’ve been unlucky, but I’ve also been very lucky. I was lucky that I found the right people at the right time at Orlando Health Cancer Institute. Now I can focus on doing all the things I want to do.

A Family of Care
At my first appointment with Dr. Baidas, he told me that a team of doctors would work together to come up with a plan just for me — to take care of me. And that’s the moment I knew I was at the right place. Everywhere I go, everybody is so kind, patient and loving. To me, these people are my family.

What started out as a terrifying diagnosis for me turned into something that positively changed my life for the better.
I don’t think it’s possible for another healthcare organization to do what Orlando Health does on the level that Orlando Health does it, because it’s that unique. It’s the Orlando Health Way and it can’t be duplicated.

To have all of your care handled at one place is just unbelievable.
With one phone call to Orlando Health Cancer Institute, I had three back-to-back appointments with medical, surgical and radiation oncologists – set up at one location. To walk in one door and have everything done in one place is just unbelievable.

At first, I didn’t know what to expect out of proton therapy, but everyone and everything works together like clockwork. There was such a good workflow.
