Orlando Health is proud to be the Official Central Florida Health Home of Special Olympics Florida. As their Official Central Florida Health Home, Orlando Health physicians and athletic trainers work directly with the athletes as they compete in a variety of athletic competitions.
Official Medical Team of 2022 Special Olympics USA Games
We were honored to be the Official Medical Team of the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games. Hear from a variety of subject matter experts, including Dr. Michael Jablonski, who served as the Chief Medical Officer for the 2022 event. Hundreds of Orlando Health team members joined the games in various roles in support of our partnership.
Preparing the Team
To prepare Team Florida for the 2022 USA Games, Orlando Health held physicals for the athletes. Physical events were held from coast to coast across central Florida.
Rallying Community Support
Orlando Health partnered with the University of Central Florida (UCF) to provide a private practice for Team Florida athletes to prepare for the 2022 USA Games. Orlando Health also is the official medical provider for UCF Athletics.
Beyond the Games
The arrangement is part of a new multiyear partnership agreement between Orlando Health, the 2022 USA Games and Special Olympics Florida that also designates Orlando Health as the Official Central Florida Health Home for Special Olympics Florida (SOFL) athletes. In addition, Orlando Health is designated as the presenting sponsor for SOFL’s Central Florida Health and Fitness programs and Young Athletes program.

In partnership with Special Olympics USA Games, we are launching a performance health series to help athletes prepare for the 2022 Special Olympics. In this first video, we cover the importance of nutrition, which is everything in terms of performance.
