2022 Special Olympics USA Games

Orlando Health is proud to be the Official Medical Team for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games. As the Official Medical Team for the 2022 USA Games, Orlando Health physicians and athletic trainers will work directly with the athletes as they compete in the Games.

Official Medical Team

Michael V. Jablonski, MD, orthopedic surgeon with Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, will lead the team of medical professionals as the chief medical officer for the 2022 USA Games. Hundreds of Orlando Health team members will also join the games in various volunteer roles in support of our partnership.

Preparing the Team

To prepare Team Florida for the 2022 USA Games, Orlando Health held physicals for the athletes. Physical events were held from coast to coast across central Florida.

Rallying Community Support

Orlando Health partnered with the University of Central Florida (UCF) to provide a private practice for Team Florida athletes to prepare for the 2022 USA Games. Orlando Health also is the official medical provider for UCF Athletics.

Beyond the Games

The arrangement is part of a new multiyear partnership agreement between Orlando Health, the 2022 USA Games and Special Olympics Florida that also designates Orlando Health as the Official Central Florida Health Home for Special Olympics Florida (SOFL) athletes. In addition, Orlando Health is designated as the presenting sponsor for SOFL’s Central Florida Health and Fitness programs and Young Athletes program.
