Community Benefit & Health Needs

Founded more than 100 years ago, Orlando Health is a private, not-for-profit healthcare organization with a long tradition of serving its many and varied communities. With physicians in more than 100 specialties, the healthcare system attracts patients from across the state, region and nation. Through our mission to improve the health and quality of life to the individuals and communities we serve, last year, the healthcare system provided more than $1.3 billion in total community impact in the form of charity care, community benefit programs and services, and community building activities.

Community Health Needs Assessment

At Orlando Health we have a long-established tradition of assessing the health needs of Central Floridians. This is done in order to provide residents with the opportunity to attain optimal health outcomes.

In 2013, our Central Florida hospitals, along with fellow healthcare organizations, conducted our first multi-hospital, public health department joint community health needs assessment. In support of building a healthier community, the assessment helps: increase understanding regarding the health of Central Floridians; build capacity through affiliated development and collaboration; and strengthen the role of the healthcare organizations as they work side-by-side within Central Florida to address community health needs. In 2016, a follow-up assessment was performed, building upon the 2013 findings. In 2019, we continued to build upon the 2016 assessment by including Federally Qualified Health Centers to join the collaboration and incorporated hotspot mapping. As in years past, the 2022 CHNA and 2025 CHNA expanded the work with the collaborative group from the previous CHNAs to include a deeper look into health disparities and social determinates of health.

The links below will download the 2025 and 2022 CHNA for our hospitals serving Lake, Orange, Osceola or Seminole counties.

Our first in the region since acquiring the facilities in the fall of 2024, we look forward to continuing to grow our relationships in the area to develop an even more robust CHNA to support the health of our communities.
