Return-To-Sport Testing

About Us

At Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute Outpatient Rehabilitation – Downtown Complex, we offer comprehensive return-to-sport testing for patients who are looking to safely return to their sport following an orthopedic injury or surgery.

Our particular area of focus is to identify readiness to return to sport and reduce re-injury risk associated with sports participation following, but not exclusive to, ACL reconstruction.

Our research-based battery of tests ensures that patients have minimal compensation patterns, adequate strength and range of motion, as well as optimized movements patterns tailored to their specific sport. This advanced testing provides a detailed analysis of each patient’s readiness, revealing areas that may need further recovery to ensure optimal safety and peak performance.

Program Goals

In addition to identifying your readiness to return to sport and reducing your risk of re-injury, we aim to help you:

  • Get back on track: Resume physical therapy or start a transition-to-sports performance program to address any remaining issues
  • Improve return-to-play decision-making: Work together with your physical therapists and doctors to ensure a safe return to play
  • Follow the latest evidence-based best practices: Complete return-to-sport testing based on criteria specific to your sport before resuming participation
