As chief quality officer of Orlando Health Cancer Institute, Amy Laughlin, MD, oversees the quality and safety of all programs and services offered at the institute. Her role includes collaboration with leadership and medical staff to support activities, processes and policies that align with systemwide clinical practices and standards and result in high-quality patient care and safety.

Amy joined Orlando Health as a board-certified medical oncologist with Orlando Health Cancer Institute, specializing in breast cancer, cancer genetics and high-risk care.

After completing her undergraduate degree at Rollins College, Amy earned a medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, both in Orlando. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and participated in the healthcare leadership and quality track. She remained at the University of Pennsylvania for a hematology and oncology fellowship, also earning a master’s in health policy research with a concentration in quality improvement and patient safety science.

Amy has published multiple peer-reviewed scientific papers and is an invited speaker on the topics of quality care and quality improvement. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American College of Physicians and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Amy is an accomplished athlete, having competed at the senior level of U.S. figure skating, as well as serving as a figure skating coach and judge.
