Workplace Violence Position Statement

Orlando Health institutes and supports a zero tolerance environment for any act of violence.

• Leadership recognizes and supports the right of every team member, patient, physician, visitor and volunteer to personal safety.
• Policies against violence, mechanisms for reporting, and education and training have been instituted to support a comprehensive prevention program.
• Every team member has the right and responsibility to report incidents of violence and physical and verbal abuse or intimidation to leadership, within the organization and to local law enforcement, without reprisal.
• The right to privacy, appropriate evaluation and debriefing, injury care and professional counseling is provided to all team members affected by an act of violence within the workplace environment.
