Karen Jensen

Karen Jensen is a Senior Vice President of Orlando Health Foundation where she has served in a variety of roles since arriving in 1995. Her primary focuses are major gifts as well as donor engagement, recognition and stewardship. Karen serves as a primary foundation liaison with a number of constituencies including the Orlando Health Foundation Board, the Orlando Health Foundation West Florida Board, the South Lake Hospital Foundation Board, the West Orange Healthcare District Board, the Board Emeritus Council and the soon-to-be-formed Orlando Health Lakeland Hospital Foundation Board.

Karen received both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in history from the University of Tennessee (UT). While a graduate student, she started her fundraising career on UT’s Knoxville campus followed by a year on the Chattanooga campus. Karen subsequently served on the fundraising staffs of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois; East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee; The Burrell Center, a community mental health center in Springfield, Missouri and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida.

Karen achieved her Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) distinction in 1992. She has been a member of American Fundraising Professionals (AFP) since 1981 and the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) since 1995. She is a former board member of AFP chapters in Springfield, Missouri, Tampa, Florida and Orlando, Florida.

Karen is also a current board member and officer for Variety Florida – the Children’s Charity and a past president of the Kiwanis Club of East Orlando. She is a board member and immediate past Chairman of the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce.
