David Strong became president and CEO of Orlando Health on April 9, 2015. Orlando Health is one of Florida’s most comprehensive private, not-for-profit healthcare organizations. Since 1918, Orlando Health has been part of Central Florida, growing from a single hospital into a $4 billion award-winning, community-based network of hospitals, physician practices and outpatient care centers throughout the region.

Since 2015, Orlando Health has enhanced healthcare consumers’ access to wellness and treatment options by adding urgent care centers, freestanding emergency departments, cancer care centers, medical pavilions and physician practices across the region. The organization also has developed Orlando Health Ventures, an innovation platform that includes a corporate venture fund that invests in promising early-stage healthcare companies from across the United States.

Orlando Health continues to receive some of the most prestigious national accolades in healthcare, including Best Hospital awards from U.S. News & World Report, Top Hospital awards from the patient safety advocates at The Leapfrog Group and Beacon Awards for excellence at the patient bedside from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. In addition, the trauma team at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) was recognized worldwide for its extraordinary response to the June 12, 2016, Pulse shooting.
