David Strong became president and CEO of Orlando Health on April 9, 2015. Orlando Health is one of Florida’s most comprehensive private, not-for-profit healthcare organizations. Since 1918, Orlando Health has been part of Central Florida, growing from a single hospital into a $3.8 billion award-winning, community-based network of hospitals, physician practices and outpatient care centers throughout the region.
Since 2015, Orlando Health has enhanced healthcare consumers’ access to wellness and treatment options by adding freestanding emergency departments, cancer care centers, medical pavilions and physician practices across the region. The organization also has partnered with CareSpot Urgent Care on co-branded, walk-in clinics that provide another layer of care for non-emergency cases.
Orlando Health continues to receive some of the most prestigious national accolades in health care, including Best Hospital awards from U.S. News & World Report, Top Hospital awards from the patient safety advocates at The Leapfrog Group and Beacon Awards for excellence at the patient bedside from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. In addition, the trauma team at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) was recognized as Central Floridians of the Year by the Orlando Sentinel for their extraordinary response to the Pulse shootings.
