David Strong became president and CEO of Orlando Health in 2015. Orlando Health is one of the Southeast’s most comprehensive private, not-for-profit healthcare organizations with $11.5 billion of assets under management. For more than 100 years, Orlando Health has been a healthcare leader, growing from a single hospital into an award-winning organization serving healthcare consumers across the southeastern United States. Its 525 locations in Florida, Alabama and Puerto Rico include 52 hospitals and emergency departments open or in development, rehabilitation services, cancer centers, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, and urgent care centers.
Orlando Health continues to receive some of the most prestigious national accolades in healthcare, including Best Hospital awards from U.S. News & World Report, Fortune and Modern Healthcare magazines; Top 50 designations from U.S. News & World Report; Best Employer recognition from Forbes magazine; Top Hospital awards from the patient-safety advocates at The Leapfrog Group; and Beacon Awards for excellence at the patient bedside from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. David is currently the chair of the Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida. He also serves on the boards of Surround Care, LLC in St. Louis, Missouri; the Florida Chamber of Commerce; the Florida Hospital Association; and CHRISTUS Health in Dallas, Texas. In addition, David advises several early- and mid-stage venture-backed companies.
