Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital Announces New Additions to Leadership Team
Orlando, FL (January 29, 2025) – Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is pleased to announce new additions to the leadership team with Melissa Payne joining as chief operating officer (COO) and Jennifer Mojica as chief financial officer (CFO).
Melissa Payne, MS, RD, LD/N has been named COO for Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital. Payne will be responsible for the operations of the hospital and provide oversight for the development of high-quality services to meet the needs of patients, physicians and team members.
For the past year, Payne has served as chief administrative officer and interim assistant vice president for Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute, Orlando Health Medical Group. Previously, she was administrator of allied health and operational support at Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital, where she
had a key role with the construction, design planning and transition to the new Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital. Payne joined Orlando Health in 2001 as a clinical dietitian.
Payne earned a bachelor’s from Clemson University and a master’s from the University of Tennessee. She previously served as president of the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She has served on the board of the Alzheimer’s Association for Central and North Florida and HOPE Helps.
Jennifer Mojica, MBA joins Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital as the chief financial officer, where she will oversee the hospital’s financial performance. She most recently served as the senior director of finance at Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital, where she developed finance education, resources and reporting framework for team members. She also served as the administrator for environmental and pharmacy services at the hospital.
Mojica joined Orlando Health in 2006, serving in progressive finance roles for nursing and allied health at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center. She later moved into a finance manager role for the oncology service line.
Mojica graduated from the University of Central Florida and received her Master of Business Administration from Western Governor’s University. She’s a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association. Mojica serves on the board of directors of the Adult Literacy League.
The moves come as previous COO Joe Khayat was promoted to president of Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital. Former CFO Howard Brown now serves as CFO for the Orlando Health South Region and Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital.
