Orlando Health Launches New Golf Performance Program

Experts will utilize state-of-the-art technology to help people up their game

Orlando, FL (July 16, 2025) – The Orlando Health Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center is thrilled to offer the community a new performance health service for professional golfers and weekend warriors alike. The golf performance health program is designed to help people play without pain, play at a higher level and extend playing years on the green.

“This program is really great for people who are finishing up traditional physical therapy for conditions like joint replacements and back pain and want to get back to the game they love,” said Chris Miller, PT, DPT, who is a TPI certified golf specialist spearheading the Orlando Health golf performance health program. “We can immediately get them into an evaluation and create an individualized program that will decrease pain and optimize movement.”

In addition to people transitioning out of physical therapy, the program is also open to Central Florida golfers who are solely focused on improving their golf game.

Experts will use a high-tech golf simulator to help identify 16 important movements for golf swing as a starting point in the evaluation. The client will then move into various phases of the program addressing swing foundations, swing speed and distance, injury prevention and ongoing performance and maintenance. Each person’s journey will be customized to work on their unique movement mechanics like rotation, flexibility and strength.

“We’re excited to bring Chris on board to lead this program at the Orlando Health Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center,” said Tiffany Wallace, PT, DPT, senior director of Orlando Health ambulatory services operations. “His vast experience building this program in private practice, along with all of the tools and technology inside our clinics, is a winning combination for clients who want to feel great while they play and improve their game.”

The golf performance health program is based inside the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s Outpatient Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine center located at the institute’s downtown complex.

While medically necessary physical therapy is often covered by insurance, the golf performance health program will require private pay. The program is expected to expand to additional clinic locations in the future.
