Adult Volunteer Service Areas

Winnie Palmer Hospital Adult Service Areas

Antepartum Unit – Assisting nursing staff by performing non-clinical duties, stocking rooms, filling water pitchers, providing patients with bedside activities. Shifts available weekdays.

Central Supply – Assist staff in unpacking shipments, stocking shelves, and delivering supplies. Shifts available weekdays.

Clerical and Staff Support – Assist in a variety of departments with answering phones, data entry, filing, and other clerical duties. Shifts are available weekdays.

Food and Nutrition – Assist in the kitchen/cafeteria by restocking silverware, wiping tables, filling salt pepper shakers, stocking beverage coolers and various kitchen duties. Shifts available Sunday – Saturday.

Guest Services/Information Desk – Assist the Guest Services staff with greeting and escorting patients, families and guests, and answering phones. Shifts are available Sunday – Saturday.

Labor and Delivery Triage – Support nursing staff by maintaining supply room, stocking patient rooms, changing linens and prepping patient rooms. Shifts available Sunday – Saturday.

Mother/Baby Nursing Units – Support nursing staff by performing non-clinical duties, stocking rooms, answering call lights, filling water pitchers. Shifts available Sunday – Saturday.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Must have 100 hours of service on a Mother/Baby unit to qualify and attend nine hours of specialized training. Duties include cuddling, changing, and feeding babies. Restocking supplies. Folding clothing and blankets. Due to the popularity of this service area, shifts are limited.

Patient Business/Admitting –Escort patients to their service areas and provide clerical support to staff. Shifts available weekdays.

Women’s Services Nursing Units – Support nursing staff by performing non-clinical duties, stocking rooms, answering call lights, assembling admission packets, filling water pitchers. Shifts available Sunday – Saturday.
