Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital Becomes First Primary Florida Resuscitation Center of Excellence in West Orange County

Orlando, FL (July 24, 2026) Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is the first hospital in West Orange County to be designated a Primary Florida Resuscitation Center of Excellence. This designation underscores the hospital’s ongoing commitment to delivering advanced, lifesaving care to cardiac arrest patients and improving survival outcomes throughout the community.
To achieve this recognition, a hospital must meet and self-attest to the criteria set by the Florida Resuscitation Committee. This includes demonstrating a collaborative partnership with local EMS providers, comprehensive patient care plans led by a multi-disciplinary team and community involvement to educate the public on how to recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies.

According to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, sudden cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the United States among adults over 40.
