What is a patient and family advisory council?
The Patient and Family Advisory Councils (PFAC) are a forum for Orlando Health to gather the unique perspective and insights from the community we serve. As part of the Patient and Family Advisory council, patients and families are invited to serve as advisors to the hospital and physician practices for up to two years. The mission of these councils is to invite transparent feedback and dynamic conversations that will help to improve the overall experience at Orlando Health. Our members may also be asked to participate on special committees that are offered as well as any midterm surveys or questionnaires as needed.
Patient and Family Advisors are committed to:
- Attending 4 meetings annually (approx. 2 hours)
- Collaborative discovery of solutions
- Transparent and thoughtful sharing of experiences and feedback
- Respecting the perspective of others
- Contributing to the improvement of patient safety, quality and experience
