Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital Donates Recess Kits to Brevard County Schools
MELBOURNE, Fl. (September 10, 2026) – Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital recently donated 18 G.R.O.W. Healthy Kids recess kits to two Brevard County elementary schools, helping provide equipment that encourages physical activity, teamwork and fun during the school day.
The hospital sponsored and delivered nine kits each to Cambridge Elementary School in Cocoa and University Park Elementary School in Melbourne on Sept. 4. The kits included items such as soccer balls, footballs, lacrosse equipment, cones and jump ropes.
"Recess plays an important role in a child's physical, social and emotional well-being, but access to equipment can vary from school to school," said Heather Profit, community relations manager for Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital and the East Region. "These kits help fill a need by providing students with resources that encourage active play, creativity and connection with their classmates. We're proud to support our local schools and invest in opportunities that help children thrive."
The donation reflects Orlando Health's ongoing commitment to supporting the health and well-being of children and families throughout Brevard County.
