Your vascular system is made up of the arteries and veins that carry blood throughout your body. When you have a condition that affects your vascular system, it can often be serious — and time can be critical.
At Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute, our team of experts works quickly to make an accurate diagnosis and carry out a treatment plan personalized to your needs.
Our team believes in a “whole person” approach to the management of your vascular condition. This may include lifestyle modifications, minimally invasive procedures (when possible), endovascular approaches and open procedures (when necessary).
If you’ve been referred to our team for a non-critical situation, we will see you for an evaluation within 48 to 72 hours. After this initial evaluation, we work to speedily schedule your diagnostic testing and have those test results sent directly back to our team for analysis. We work with you to formulate a treatment plan that fits your needs and lifestyle. We also keep your primary care provider (or whoever referred you) in the loop along the way, so they know how you’re progressing in your treatment with us.
Our vascular team takes a comprehensive approach to caring for you and your condition. This means, we coordinate care with other specialists you may have, such as those in:
If you need treatment from another Orlando Health specialist, we will send your records over to them to help coordinate your care. Our goal is to make health care as streamlined as possible for you.

Over time, complications of CLI can include sores and wounds on the legs and feet that will not heal. If not properly treated, these non-healing wounds can lead to the need for amputation of part or all of a foot or a leg.
Our Critical Ischemia Program uses an aggressive diagnostic and treatment approach to quickly care for you and help you avoid major amputation. We evaluate patients within 48 to 72 hours of referral and begin treatment within 21 days or less.
Our team offers a robust Vein Program, which includes in-office vein ablation for varicose veins and access placement for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
