About the Heart Attack Program at Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute

When you are having a heart attack, each second counts. The Orlando Health regional rapid response team is trained to provide quick and effective life-saving treatment for heart attacks.

Emergency medical personnel, paramedics, Orlando Health emergency departments and our cardiac catheterization labs work together to get you the help you need quickly. After a 911 call, paramedics contact the nearest Orlando Health hospital to prepare our heart and vascular team for your arrival. We then quickly get you to our cardiac catheterization lab to open your clogged or blocked arteries. Our patients receive treatment within 60 minutes upon arrival in our emergency department — the American Heart Association recommends treatment within 90 minutes. Our program helps save lives and lowers the rate of heart attack deaths in Central Florida.
